Boxing

I started shooting boxing in Florida. Angelo Dundee had the Challenger Boxing Series going on in Jacksonville and I shot some of the events there. I got hooked. Boxing is fun to watch and the crowd is as much fun as the events. Boxing, in my opionion, is a people sport. What I mean by that is all types of people go to a boxing match. It is not unusual to see someone in an evening gown or a famous actor sitting ringside. People love to talk about the great fights they’ve seen and how tough “that guy was!”  The sport is entrenched in American history. Men love the sport because it is “mano a mano”  (one on one). Two men get in the ring and duke it out. Truth is, most fights go the distance and it is more a battle of skill and fight plan than just brawling. This is not to say that some fights don’t go down that road, but most of the time, boxing is sport of skills and endurance. Most people don’t realize that there are more injuries in football than in boxing.

All that aside, I enjoy shooting boxing (and sports in general) and I am open to taking on new assignments.
