Caroline Thompson has been a professional photojournalist for over a decade.  She started shooting boxing in Florida with the Challenger Boxing Series featuring Angelo Dundee’s Norwegian fighters. After getting hooked on sports photography, she moved on to photographing wildlife and magazine work. After relocating to California, she worked for Nolte Photography Studios , the University Of California, Davis as a senior photographer and continued her freelance photojournalism work. In 2003, she started freelancing full time. She has had her work in the Sacramento Bee, People Magazine, Newsweek and many other publications. Added to her list of credits are an extensive boxing portfolio, colorful theater work, magazine covers and a growing portfolio of B&W art prints. Currently, she writes for two web magazines and has a column with the Examiner .com

In her free time, Caroline donates her services to the Special Olympics, the CETA foundation and other community based organizations. She is currently working on two books, Women in Boxing and Solano County. She has another project in the works, Images Pushed To The Edge Of Realism. This project showcases her photojournalistic style and excitement with the new technology and powerful imaging applications available.

After graduating from CSUH (California State University Hayward) with a BA in photojournalism, she discovered her storytelling roots in writing and taking pictures. She continues her education in new media and the web and plans on doing more mixed media stories in the future.
